Diablo Immortal continues to earn money

Because of "awakening Diablo IV Gold," a user does not require six, but rather 36 (!) 5-star gems in order to fully maximize their level.

"To unlock a gem, the gem has to be level 10 and you'll need to buy an item that's only sold in the cash shop for dark orbs that are called dawning Echos priced at around 1000 eternal orbs, which is around 30$ per event of awakening." ShiftYourCarcass noted.

Then it's up to $540,000, assuming an average cost of $15,000 per 5-star gem. Additionally players would have to shell out around $180 for six sunrise echoes.

The thing is you "whales" with lower luck are required to pay more (let's say 1 million dollars?) as Diablo Immortal doesn't guarantee a five-star gem drop.

Diablo Immortal has become the most controversial game launch of 2022 as of now. It's now the least-rated Blizzard games on Metacritic by users, with many accusing the studio of milking profits from their players. The game's monetization strategy was condemned by some players (here is a blog post written by Riot producer Juno Blees about predatory pay-to-win mechanics).

Although there is controversy about it, Diablo Immortal continues to earn money for Blizzard. According to AppMagic, the game reached $14.5 million on mobile in its first week. the game's revenue now exceeding $40 million.

It's one of the questions I've seen repeatedly asked in the past few weeks which I've also asked myself in the present situation at Blizzard, can we trust in the event that Diablo 4 will actually deliver with the recent events?

This is something that I've struggled over, because although I'm sure I've enjoyed everything I've watched in Diablo 4 so far, particularly the new footage this week buy Diablo 4 Gold, I find it difficult to believe in the decisions made by Blizzard in recent years, and hard to just...trust them as an entity currently.
